We offer a comprehensive and creative framing service for your own paintings, prints, photographs, etchings, lithographs, and in fact anything you could possibly frame - caps, signed sportswear, medals and even butterflies!

Picture framing is an art form in its own right, sometimes a single line in the right place or 2mm one way or the other can have a significant effect on enticing the viewer to look beyond the frame to what lies within. The choice of mount colour, the frame, and the correct combination are chosen to enhance and compliment your needs. We use only conservation grade mounting materials and all framing is undertaken in our own workshops.

Basic rules are more than meet the eye:

All our mountboards are PH neutral
This means acid free - cheaper mountboards are not. All acids burn and prolonged contact with artwork causes irreversible damage. Conservation framing uses PH neutral (acid free) material throughout, reversible PH 0 tapes and soluble adhesives.

Proportional Dimensions
Our mounts are always larger at the base than the top or sides. This is to compensate for an optical illusion. If all sides were the same i.e. Top, Sides and Base, the Base appears to be narrower than the top so to overcome this the Base of a mount should always be the larger.

Glass Types
Ordinary, Non Reflective, U.V filtered (reduces fading) and Clear Colour. All picture glass mutes colours substantially but we are forced to use it for protection. Without it, colours are sharp and crisp. Glass type used depends largely on the personal value of a painting being framed.

Completeness
All pictures completed by us are complete. The backs are sealed, the string is secured, the picture hooks supplied and the corners, revealed. The Painting does not leave the premise until you, the customer, is completely satisfied with the finished product. If you change your mind about the frame at any stage, all processes involved in framing are completely reversible and the picture can be handed back to you in it's original state.
